Windows 10: Some Pages Don't Load, Connections Time Out

Avira's website isn't bookmarked, but still doesn't load for me.

 

macromeme site won't load for me either in any browser.




Can you get to any of the sites using this?

What did ZHP cleaner find if anything?

 

ZHP found three items, which I repaired afterward. The link for Webkick, however, fails to load, timing out like the rest of the sites. Here is also the MTB log.

 

Well I'm pretty much out of ideas. Perhaps try using a blank HOSTS file (copy existing HOSTS file and rename to HOSTS.old first)

Also my HOSTS file starts like this:

Also try disabling hardware acceleration in browsers;

Disable Avira Web Protection component and test:

Maybe remove Avira just to test.

How do I uninstall my Avira product?...

 

Not surprisingly, that website fails to load as well. Disabling hardware acceleration does not fix the issue.

Manual uninstallation

• Download the free Avira RegistryCleaner tool. See attached file below.
• Start your computer in Safe Mode.
  • Instructions for Windows 10
• Open the Windows Explorer with the keyboard shortcut Win+E and delete manually all Avira directories available under the program and application files:
  • Program files
    Windows 10: Desktop\This PC\Local Disc (C\Program Files (x86)
    
    
    
    Note
    If the deletion of the directories fails, rename the Avira directories, perform another reboot in "safe mode" and delete subsequently the renamed directories.
    
    
  • Application files

    If the Data application folder is not visible, enable it via Windows Explorer (keyboard shortcut: Win+E) → Tools → Folder Options → View → Advanced Settings → Show hidden files and folders → Show hidden files, folders and drives.
    
    
    
• Clean up the Windows registry using the previously downloaded "Avira Registry Cleaner" tool.
  • Double-click the downloaded avira_registry_cleaner_en.exe file.
  • Accept the license terms.
  • Select ALL Avira products.
  • Click Remove.

Reset the Windows LSP (Winsock)Select the operating system of your device to reset Windows LSP.
Windows 10

• Right click the Windows icon in the lower left hand corner of the screen and then click Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type the following command in the command line:
  netsh winsock reset
  
• Press Enter.
• Restart your computer.

Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10 Windows 10 Tutorials

Sometimes you can also get option to boot into safe mode by repeatedly tapping F8 key on boot.
