Microsoft Edge is a new web browser that is available across the Windows 10 device family. It is designed for Windows 10 to be faster, safer, and compatible with the modern Web.

Microsoft Edge provides a font size to suit your mood.

Starting with Windows 10 build 17711, Microsoft Edge has a new Line focus feature that helps improve focus while reading an article by highlighting sets of one, three, or five lines.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off using line focus to highlight sets of one, three, or five lines while reading an article in Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 10.


EXAMPLE: Microsoft Edge Line focus in Reading view







Here's How:

1. While you have reading view turned on in Microsoft Edge to read an article, click/tap on an empty area of the article.

2. Do step 2 (on) or step 3 (off) below for what you would like to do


2. To Turn On Line Focus in Microsoft Edge Reading View
A) Click/tap on the Learning tools icon

B) Click/tap on the Reading preferences icon

C) Turn on Line focus.

D) Click on the one

, three

, or five

lines button for what you want to highlight sets of one, three, or five lines while reading an article.










3. To Turn Off Line Focus in Microsoft Edge Reading View
*note This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on the Learning tools icon

B) Click/tap on the Reading preferences icon

C) Turn off Line focus.

Windows 10 - Microsoft edge - Reading view

From the description of the issue, I understand that you want to enable the Reading view in Microsoft Edge.

Method 1

1. Open the Microsoft Edge app.

2. While on a webpage you want to turn on reading view for, press the
Ctrl + Shift +R keys.

Method 2

1. Open the Microsoft Edge app.

2. Click/tap on the
More actions icon on the toolbar, and click/tap on Settings.

3. Select a Reading view style and
Reading view font size you want to be used whenever you have reading view turned on. Try each setting to see which one you like best.

We appreciate all the details that you've provided. Since you've already tried the troubleshooting steps given above and the issue still persists on all of your machines, we suggest that you perform a system restore on certain Windows 10 machine and see
if the reading view will work on Microsoft Edge. Kindly check this

No Cortana Icon on Microsoft Edge

Hi Praveen,

It is possible that the Show search and site suggestions as I type option in Microsoft Edge isn't enabled which explains why the Cortana icon is not visible. To check, follow these steps:

• Open Microsoft Edge.
• Click the Menu button (...).
• Click Settings.
• Scroll down and click View advanced settings.
• 
  Turn on the toggle switch for the Have Cortana assist me in Microsoft Edge
  option.
  
• 
  Turn on the toggle switch for the Show search and site suggestions as I type option.
