    Unexplained reboot nothing in event log


    The logs on the computer now start on 4/21/2018.
    There were only 7 days of logs.
    There were no bugchecks or dumps.
    The MSI driver support for the motherboard ended with Windows 7
    There was no driver support for Windows 8 or 10.
    The last MSI drivers/bios were approximately 2009.
    The logs displayed problems related to the NVDIA GPU and the last report was on 4/22/2018.

    1) Uninstall Iorbit
    Remove IObit Uninstaller from PC-Uninstall Guide

    2) Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting.

    3) Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce bsod.
    The BIOS: Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. V1.10, 11/11/2008
    4) Please check to see if this is the most up to date version.

    5) Open the website for the computer or motherboard manufacturer to view the drivers and post a URL or hyperlink into the thread.

    6) To ensure that there are no improper bios settings please reset the bios.
    7) Sometimes there can be failure to boot after resetting the bios.
    8) Backup the computer files to another drive or to the cloud.
    9) Make sure that the Macrium backup image is up to date

    10) And please create a brand new restore point.

    11) In the left lower corner search type: system or system control > open system control panel > on the left pane click advanced system settings
    a) > on the advanced tab under startup and recovery > click settings > post an image of the startup and recovery into the thread.
    b) > on the advanced tab under performance > click on settings > under performance options > click on the advanced tab > under virtual memory > click on change > post an image of the virtual memory tab into the thread

    12) Choose one of the temperature monitoring software applications: Speecy, HW monitor, Speed fan:

    13)Ensure the GPU is free from dust build up and that the fan is working correctly

    14) Reseat the GPU and check all connections are securely made

    15) Run Prime95 - Stress Test Your CPU

    a) Record the maximum temperature and post the maximum temperature into the thread
    b) Record test duration and post the uninterrupted test duration into the thread
    c) Aim for testing > 3 hrs and abort testing as needed for freezing, temperature changes (see link)
    d) Use the Microsoft snipping tool to post images into the thread.

    16) Run FurMark - GPU Stress Test Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

    a) Record the maximum temperature and post the maximum temperature into the thread.

    Have rolled back the Nvidia driver to 388.71 and it has installed successfully, will test for a few days. How do I stop windows updating the driver?

    Edit: Worked out how to stop driver updates from google.
