  1. Windows 10 single local administrator account mistakenly changed from full permission to no...

    Hi,

I have windows 10 home and just a single local administrator account. By mistake I have changed the c drive security permission for authenticated user to no permission by unchecking all permission. Now, I can not run any settings/applications or do anything. This account does not have any permission and now i can't change it back to the original permission. I tried the following but did not work,

    1) create new administrator user ( does not work because account does not have write access)

    2) can not run anything as administrator.

    3) can not run regedit or cmd or computer management or change user account type. Same permission error or get a message that says windows can not access the file.

    4) reseting windows

Now I am totally stuck. I can't do anything. Please help

    :)

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account

Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

    Tutorials:
Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address.
