Why doesn't MS do that? Well, with Win 10 and the major build upgrades, and the progressive release of iso files, they are really helping people by letting them do an
    in-place upgrade repair install
    - which keeps all programs and most settings.

    Instructions in the Tutorial section.

  7. I tried this and now I can't log back in the store. It just pops up a grey window for a second that closes right away and nothing happens! What the hell!

I did the 2nd option and everything is working now, the best part is that all my software was still there after reinstall

Danger Danger, Red Alert!!! I had the same problem trying to get the Weather App to download from the store. I tried all the fixes that were suggested and none of them worked until.... I turned off my McAfee Firewall. Then it worked fine. So I ask you... why should you have to do that, or shut off your VPN? The answer I am afraid is obvious. Microsoft Store is harvesting everything it can from your system and installing spyware when you put your shields down. This is very obnoxious, as well as potentially illegal. There is no other reason I can think of that it wants no security of any form between the store and your system. I have downloaded other apps and files with shields up with no problem. I await any cogent answer denying this from a knowledgeable Microsoft person.
