Add or Remove OneDrive from Navigation Pane in Windows 10

    Hello Jim, *Smile

I believe that OneDrive Business replaces the personal OneDrive.

If you like for now, you could "Pin to Quick access" your personal %UserProfile%\OneDrive folder to have available in the Navigation Pane under the Quick access group.

  2. Hello Brink,

I do have the location pinned to Quick Access for now, but that's not what I want. Ideally I want the typically standard behavior with OneDrive in the Nav Pane just like 'This PC' and 'Network'.

Also, the OneDrive application now handles OneDrive (personal) as well as OneDrive for Business and now lately even SharePoint Team Sites (pretty well, too) so no longer are there two separate applications for personal and business, just one app for both. As a result, synchronization on either side is finally working pretty well again!

With the latest Cumulative update just released today, I'm hoping that will correct the issue and I'm about to give that a try. If not, I guess I'm holding out for the Creator's Update to do the job. We will see.

    Thanks. - Jim

Consider that the (Default) value property should also be given the data 'OneDrive' as it is used for (mouse over) tooltips.
Also, the same change needs to be made to your Dropbox instructions

Add or Remove OneDrive from Navigation Pane in Windows 10

    I have a problem with 2 users.

Their OneDrive\Sharepoint folder suddenly disappeared from the Navigation Pane without any changes. I'm having big trouble bringing it back because everything I tried has failed. This has happened not long after updating to the latest updates (Windows Fall Creators Update). I mentioned Sharepoint because we use office365 at the office. We also use the new OneDrive client (not the onedrive for business - that was a piece of junk).

I tried resetting OneDrive, and I also tried editing the registry - HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}. But at both cases, this registry was missing. I tried adding the registry (also adding "System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree" to 1) but this changed nothing.

I also tried the .reg file at the first page of this topic, but it changed nothing.

I'm suspecting that the new updates messed things up...

    Please help.

Hello rronge, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

That's odd. The registry entries for OneDrive should be there by default.

If you like, see if the steps below to install the latest OneDrive may be able to help.

    • Download and install the latest version of OneDrive that's rolling out with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
    • Restart your computer.
    • After your computer restarts, select the Start button, search for “OneDrive”, and then select the OneDrive desktop app.
    • When OneDrive Setup starts, enter your personal account, or your work or school account, and then select Sign in.

Hello Brink, thanks for the welcome and the quick reply.

Your suggestion worked. I deleted and reinstalled OneDrive, and the icons appeared again at the navigation pane. However, I had to resync with the sharepoint sites, but that only took 10 minutes or so.

    Thanks!!
