After Windows 10 Update, I can't disable taps

Hello, I am experiencing an issue and need help.
It seems every time I perform system updates, my touchpad resets to auto clicking, taps and other gestures activated. This time, I can't disable it.
I used to be able to go into the advanced touchpad settings and disable it there (where it would show a visual of fingers doing the different gestures). Now that option is nowhere to be found. This is just since the latest software update.

I've tried everything I can think of, installed new drivers, rolled back the driver....I've gotten in touch with the "virtual assistant" which was laughable, they gave me no help at all and kept telling me answers for different random issues.

It's getting to the point where I am about ready to throw this thing out the window, I can barely do anything on this laptop anymore...the mouse just clicks on everything I scroll past.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I have an HP Pavilion Gaming laptop model 15-cx0056wm

    :)

    Hello Gary,

In line with your concern, check if you can disable the Tap-to-click feature by performing the steps below:

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Click on Personalization, then Themes.
    3. Select Mouse pointer settings.
    4. Then, click on the last tab called Device settings (might be different from other computers) and again on Settings.
    5. A new window will pop-up with the Pointer options. Just uncheck Tapping.

Enable or Disable Touchpad Tapping in Touchpad Settings

How to Enable or Disable Touchpad Tapping and Tap to Click in Windows 10

If your Windows 10 PC (ex: laptop) has a built-in touchpad, you may want to enable or disable the tapping feature (aka: Tap to Click) as needed.

Tapping means quickly touching and then lifting your finger off the touchpad surface.

When tapping is enabled, a tap on the touchpad performs the actions of the left mouse button.

When tapping is disabled, the touchpad buttons are the only way to click from the touchpad.

This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable touchpad tapping (aka: Tap to Click) on demand for your account in Windows 10.

Touchpad tapping settings will vary from one device and driver to another, so your settings may be different than in this tutorial.

If you have something different, then please post screenshots. I'll be happy to include it in the tutorial for others.
