A relatively modern i5 laptop with 12 GB of RAM and 7,200 RPM spinner. A lot of other members have reported extremely long upgrades in previous announcement threads.

When upgrade process is running, the CPU usage remains between 15% and 50%, memory usage under 35%, disk usage between 30% and 50%.

Until last ESD upgrade early December, the whole process took less than an hour, from finding the upgrade to restart to upgraded desktop. Since first UUP upgrade never under four hours.

I'm definitely not happy with the UUP method of updating. It's been over three hours now and my computer is only at 72%.

Although sorry to hear that, I have to say it's good to know I am not alone with this issue.

  6. This is really odd but the problem is fixed. When I did the upgrade I noticed an updated Intel driver also installed. Tonight the Night Light was not, and could not be activated. After searching around I found that previous problems with the Night Light were due to display drivers. I checked the Device Manager and found the Intel driver was in fact hosed. I uninstalled, rebooted and the Night Light and Sleep are now working.

'Windows Hello' doesn't work on this Build, (or the previous)
    Works on the CU though!

Interesting to note: Windows Hello will register your facial recognition with and without glasses!

It doesn't solve the problem but it is nice to know it not just my computer. *Smile It's now up to 92%.

Ms Windows Professional (VMware) and Windows Education (VirtualBox) doing a disk cleanup after upgrading to 16353. Should I cancel and revert back to 16273 so I can test Kari's program? Probably not.

  10. Does it not want you to ask if Microsoft knows what they are doing? Over 5 hours for an update that used to take 20 to 30 minutes is outrageous!

I would like to leave feedback about this but as usual, Feedback Hub works in every other way except for Feedback. I can browse the announcements, check tasks and so on, but feedback itself is showing this since a few days:

Have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. No help.

In your case, I have to admit you shouldn't. Wise decision.

  12. OK. I have a program on Windows 10 that has identified the Trojan in UUPtoISO that is being flagged by the AV scans of both Chrome and FF. Do with this information as you wish Kari. Also I am less concerned about making ISO since Microsoft posted a new Canary which was compiled Monday. 10.0.16354.1000 (rs_prerelease.170828-1640)

Maybe the Trojan was causing the program to abort. I'll leave it for Kari to investigate. But obviously the program should NOT be hosted on the Ten Forums servers.

I have "Ask Cortana about whatever" back on the context menu of right click highlighted word in Edge back.

Going through Settings app some settings were changed. Not many, though. I see they have little mini help videos that can be full-screened in some categories.

Security Center has a face lift.

  14. Is Hustle-as-a-service a real thing?. Anyway I've gotten kicked off Skippy a couple of times but have used the registry hack to get it fixed. Have bookmaked the Activity key. Now I at 65% downloading 16353. I'm figuring build 16358 which will be compiled tomorrow (Friday) will be our build next week. We will see.

It's something Dona started amongst her peers I guess mimicking Windows as a service.
