Windows 10: Can't open Windows Game Bar

So I just finished updating my computer to the latest update, and now my game bar is no longer working. When I try to use Win+G to activate it, nothing happens. I thought it might be an issue with the hotkey, so I tried to open the app through the Windows Menu; still nothing. I've checked all the settings and tried re-enabling it and even uninstalling the Xbox app, but nothing seems to work. It just won't open, despite the process for it being open in the background.

Version: 1903

OS Build: 18362.476


Not sure if this would also have something to do it, but I also updated my graphics driver (AMD Radeon R7 200 Series) to Adrenalin 19.11.1 (was originally Crimson 13 something, can't remember the exact version).


Any help is appreciated, as I need to get it working as soon as possible.

I suggest you to try the troubleshooting steps listed in fix problems with Game bar
on Windows 10 and check if it works.

Pressing the letter G open Game bar

Hi,

As per the information, it seems that you might have pressed on Windows key + G to open Game bar. I suggest that you use the follow the steps below and check if it helps



To Turn Off Game Bar in Xbox app

1. Open the Xbox app.

2. Click/tap on the Settings icon on the left, click/tap on
Game DVR at the top, and turn off the
Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR setting at the top.

OPTION ONE

To Turn On or Off Game Bar in Settings

*note Starting with Windows 10 (20H1) builds, you will need to click/tap on Xbox Game bar on the left side instead.

*note It is required to turn on the Xbox Game Bar to be able to open it.











OPTION TWO

Enable or Disable Open Xbox Game Bar using Xbox button on Game Controller using a REG file
*note The downloadable .reg files below will modify the DWORD in the registry key below.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\GameBar

UseNexusForGameBarEnabled DWORD

0 = Disable
1 = Enable
1. Do step 2 (enable) or step 3 (disable) below for what you would like to do.


2. To Enable Open Xbox Game Bar using Xbox button on Game Controller
*note This is the default setting. It is required to turn on the Xbox Game Bar to be able to open it.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

3. To Disable Open Xbox Game Bar using Xbox button on Game Controller
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

Disable_open_Xbox_Game_Bar_using_Xbox_button_on_game_controller.reg




4. Save the .reg file to your desktop.

5. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

6. When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.

7. You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.
