Windows 10: Get rid of my user account

Hello users.
When I reinstalled Windows 10 on my laptop I did so that it was not signed into any account and it just came on. So the other night I used the email application to check my email. Next time I turned the laptop on it asked for my password!!! *Mad
I have now removed the email account but it still asks for my password when I turn on. I have removed it from ACCOUNTS - FAMILY & OTHER. It is still showing in YOUR INFO and to remove it I have to set up a local account with password!!! *Mad
I just want it back to how it was. No account attached and no password request!

It's alright, I gave up and resorted to wiping my computer and starting from scratch. Solves my problem, even if somewhat drastically.

Corrupted user account is one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. We need additional information to help resolve the issue. Kindly answer the following questions below:

• How do you delete the user account?
  
• Are you getting any error messages when deleting the user account?

Did you set Windows to automatically sign in to your account at startup?

If so, that would be why it's asking for your password since the account is no longer available. You can setup netplwiz again to update it for your current account to have it automatically sign in at startup again.

No. I never entered my account details on setup as stated. And no I do not want auto sign in I want it back to the way it was when I skipped account creation in setup. But thank you for the welcome.

 

In that case, it sounds like you mistakenly switched to using a Microsoft account (MSA) from you local account when you setup the Mail app.

First, verify if you are currently using a MSA or local account.

Microsoft accounts can be very helpful and useful for syncing when you use Microsoft services (ex: OneDrive, Mail app, etc...). Think of a MSA like a roaming account with more options.

 

Yes I agree it would be very useful for people who have use but for a billy no computer work like me it is annoying how something so simple as signing into email using the email app can take over and competently change the experience. I will be sticking with the browser from now on.

Im just old school. I want to turn a computer on and use it! I dont wanting it telling me I did not wipe my arse with the usual toilet paper.

 

If you like, you could use step 3 in OPTION ONE to add your MSA to the Mail app without switching from your local account used to sign in to Windows 10.
