Information You can keep track of the websites you visit frequently by storing them as bookmarks in Firefox. The bookmarks bar is a toolbar in Firefox that you can also add your favorite websites you visit frequently on to make opening them faster and more convenient.

This tutorial will show you how to import bookmarks from Google Chrome to Mozilla Firefox bookmarks for your account in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

CONTENTS:

• Option Two: To Import Bookmarks from Chrome to Firefox using HTML file

OPTION ONE [/i] To Import Everything from Chrome to Firefox using Import Wizard


Note This option is to be able to import your cookies, browsing history, saved passwords, and favorites from Chrome to Firefox.

1. Open Mozilla Firefox.

2. In Firefox, click/tap on the Library icon in the toolbar, and click/tap on Bookmarks. (see screenshot below)


Note If you do not have Library on the toolbar, then you can click/tap on the Menu button

, click/tap on Library, and click/tap on Bookmarks instead.




3. Click/tap on Show All Bookmarks (Ctrl+Shift+B). (see screenshot below)



4. In the Library, select All Bookmarks in the left pane, click on the Import and Backup toolbar button, then click/tap on Import Data from Another Browser. (see screenshot below)



5. Select (dot) Chrome, and click/tap on Next. (see screenshot below)



6. Check and uncheck the items you want to import from Chrome to Firefox, and click/tap on Next. (see screenshot below)



7. When the Import Wizard has finished, click/tap on Finish. (see screenshots below)



8. You can now close the Library if you like.





OPTION TWO [/i] To Import Bookmarks from Chrome to Firefox using HTML file
1. Export your bookmarks from Chrome to an HTML file.

2. Open Mozilla Firefox.

3. In Firefox, click/tap on the Library icon in the toolbar, and click/tap on Bookmarks. (see screenshot below)


Note If you do not have Library on the toolbar, then you can click/tap on the Menu button

, click/tap on Library, and click/tap on Bookmarks instead.




4. Click/tap on Show All Bookmarks (Ctrl+Shift+B). (see screenshot below)



5. In the Library, select All Bookmarks in the left pane, click on the Import and Backup toolbar button, then click/tap on Import Bookmarks from HTML. (see screenshot below)



6. Browse to and select the exported HTML file from Chrome, and click/tap on Open. (see screenshot below)



7. Your Chrome bookmarks have now been imported into your Firefox bookmarks.

8. You can now close the Library if you like.

importing firefox bookmarks to edge

The only browser that shows up in Edge to import bookmarks from is Internet Explorer. I also have Firefox and Chrome installed but neither shows on the import list. Anxious to try Edge but will continue using Firefox until I can import bookmarks.

 

Problem Importing Bookmarks from Firefox into Win 10 Edge browser.

You need to get your bookmarks first into either IE or Chrome, depends what's listed in your Edge "Import Favourites" page. Some people seem only to have IE, some have both. Doesn't matter which you use. Then you can import them into Edge. So...

1. From Firefox, export your favourites either to desktop or a temporary folder.

2. In IE or Chrome delete all bookmarks that you no longer want or that are duplicated in Firefox - if you don't do this you will import unwanted bookmarks into Edge.

3. In IE or Chrome import the bookmarks from wherever you saved them (desktop or folder)

Chrome ->Bookmarks Manager ->Organize -> "Import Bookmarks from HTML file"

IE -> click on star -> Add to favourites -> import from another file/browser (n.b. IE allows you to skip step 1)

4. Open Edge and Import Favourites (Hub -> Favourites -> Import Favourites) from IE or Chrome.

Done, but like many users I found this Edge import procedure reversed the bookmarks order and I had to resort them manually. Having done all this, I thought that Edge was no better or faster than any other browser and lacked many features so after all this
import palaver, I'm back to using Firefox in Windows 10.
