Alright, so I should just choose system recovery? So was this a hard drive problem? Because if so, should I look at getting a new hard drive? I don't want this to happen again, seeing as how all my hardware is fine and drivers weren't the problem, it seems C drive WAS corrupted as both of you theorized. Do you suggest investing in a new hard drive? I knew I wasn't getting an 850 evo or anything with the Sandisk, but damn I didn't think it'd fail this hard.

At this p[oint we don't know if it was the hard drive or the file system being corrupted. You can try to restore it to a point in time when it did work, run startup repair or a system recovery. If you do the recovery, I wouldn't install anything at first. Just run it as is for a while to see if it is going to work OK.

Goddammit I think I made it worse. So I didn't have a system restore point, I decided to do a system reset instead, I said keep files and it said it couldn't complete the reset. Then I said fine I'll delete files becuase they're on my hdd anyways. That also failed, with the first one however it said no changes were made, the one that deleted files didn't say that. Now here's the crappy part, I decided to restart and see what happens, but now it won't go past my motherboard boot screen, I can go into BIOS, but aside form that it'll go to motherboard screen, go black and reboot to motherboard screen. Just keeps looping, I can boot into a separate drive or USB but aside form that the comp doesn't work at all. Sigh, any suggestions?

Unless @axe0 has some other ideas, you are running out of options. You can try to run startup repair. Run it at least 3 times with attempted reboots in between each time. But, your best opportunity for a trouble free system is a clean install. If you don't have a copy of all of your personal files, I would make them now. If you need to know how, we can help you.

If the recovery partition hasn't damaged, we could try to rebuild the MBR files. I don't know what is damaged and how much, but I would think it is worth a try.

Well the thing is it won't run startup repair, it's not turning off and on, just going from motherboard screen to black screen to motherboard again. I have a Windows 8 disc, that's what I installed with before upgrading. If I use that to clean install will I be able to get windows 10? I don't think I can use the same product key right? Another option might be to update my brothers comp, he said it needed to be win 8 for some uni programs he needs but he said it's okay if I need to update it to 10. If I do that can I just make a recovery disk from that and run it through there? Will I need to purchase a new windows 10 license?

    To answer your questions:
If you clean install Windows 8 again, you can install Windows 10 again, but as essenbe also said you can create installation media for installing Windows 10, note that it also contains troubleshooting options
    Windows 10 - Clean Install - Windows 10 Forums
I am however not sure how it goes with the activation.

Yes you can, but try above link first please for troubleshooting, I think it would be faster.

I can't tell for 100% unfortunately, I am definitely a novice when it comes to activation problems.

Write down your Windows 8 activation number somewhere, so you will have it if needed later.

Thank you for the reply and answers axe0 but I don't understand how I can clean install Windows 10 if I don't have access to a Windows 10 computer and my computer won't boot at all. How do I make installation media? I don't know if I made it compelelty clear but the implied computer won't go past bios boot up screen, and it won't go into Windows startup repair either. It just loops from black screen to bios.

Hey all, just a quick question. So I'm about to start installing windows, should I delete all my old partitions? Or should I just install it on the primary drive that I can?

I would delete everything until the drive shows unallocated, then install to an unallocated drive. The installer will create partitions for you. Make sure the drive you are installing Windows to is the only one connected during the install. This may help.
