  1. Windows 10 October 2018 update (1809) HDR+Nvidia GPU+HDTV auto picture mode issue

I have gtx 1080 connected to a sony x900e via hdmi with the enhanced hdmi color setting enabled on the tv. for years windows paired with a nvidia gpu was able to switch the picture mode on my tv to correspond with the content being viewed. for example:

my tv is set to auto switch the mode based on content

at the desktop, windows seems to tell the nvidia drivers that we are in Desktop Mode (this setting can be found in the nv control panel under desktop color settings) and the tv sees this as Graphics or Generic mode.

Start a fullscreen game, windows tell the nvidia drivers that we are in game mode, tv will switch to Game Mode.

This has been working fine up until the latest version of windows 10, 1809. I have the latest graphics drivers, i even tried reinstalling the drives (the proper way using DDU). The issue is that:

When i have HDR enabled in Windows Display Settings, the picture mode seems to change for a half second then back to generic/desktop mode. If i disable HDR, the auto switch happens correctly. As of right now i have to manually change the modes each time i want to either play a game, watch a movie, or just browse the web, and it is not just a couple of button presses on my remote. Sony has the picture mode setting somewhat buried underneath a few menu layers. This is an inconvenience. Something must have changed from 1803>1809 in the way windows handles HDR and display signals that tell the display, especially smart TVs, what content is being viewed. If anyone can provide some insight for a workaround it would be much appreciated! Also hope the MS devs see this. I dont think a majority of PC gamers game on a tv but we still do.

    Happy New Year!

    :)

  2. Sleep mode issue - Windows 10 October 2018 update (Ver. 1809)

After updating Windows 10 to the Version 1809 (October 2018 update) my computer restarts when is waking up from Sleep mode.

When I put the computer to sleep is working fine and sleep mode works without issues but when I wake up the computer, the system restart itself instead of simply wake up.

Do you know how to fix it?
