Windows 10: Windows 10 October Update 1809 BSOD problem

just clean installed Windows 10 1809 from iso file & installed all the updated drivers.

then i proceeded to update windows from settings

KB4469342 (OS Build 17763.168)

everything was fine.

until windows explorer crashed. i could not force stop/ restart the "explorer" process from task manager.

so i restarted the PC. and got BSOD.

the error was showing "page fault in nonpaged area"


i tried to uninstall the updates via recovery, still BSOD

Edge browser stopped working after upgrading to Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809)

Enabling the TCP/IPv6 on the adapter card fixed the issue for me. I did not have it enabled because my IP service provider does not use IPv6 and I had it disabled and Edge worked in that config until I updated to Windows 10 version 1809 in October. Spent several hours trying different suggestions that did not help. This fix took me 20 seconds to implement and get Edge connected to the internet.

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's good that you're not experiencing any issues. Unfortunately many folks are, a quick Google search will show the same info im offering the OP.

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

keep in mind, as of recently, the FCU is installed on 5% of devices roughly.....
