    I guess the usual after major feature (or minor patch) updates something on some machines break. Did you get the updates yesterday?

    I take the updates didn't help. Try opening Task Manager > Look for Windows Explorer > Click Restart at the lower right > See if that does anything.

    I cant think of anything that would rebuild that context menu other than a reset.

    Hi @PriSim

    Is your folder view set to Small Icons?

    There is a bug in Windows FCU preventing users from renaming files and folders in "Small Icons" view. My computer has the same issue, however it is not a problem for me as I use the "Details" view for all the folders on my computer.

    @PriSim Your user profile is not corrupted. The file/folder rename issue is definitely a bug in Windows.

    *Smile I'm glad that you are happy.

    I did call the Microsoft today in morning , and after making many changes like permissions etc , they ask me to add anew user , and on new user profile , rename was working even with small icons view, then they told me its about my user file corruption due to unnecessary settings *Sad
    That's why , i was asking about profile repairing method, i have to admit their point for once, as everything was fine under new user profile.

    @PriSim

    Once your PC/device has digital license it will always activate.

    Always perform a system backup on a regular basis, however, it will do you no good to backup now since your system is corrupt, although you want to backup all of your important files before starting repairs. I simply copy/paste folders/files to a USB thumb drive or you can use a DVD. Very important files I backup on two drives. That way if need be I can use that drive in another PC. Before installing software I make a restore point as explained below.

    For a total system backup I use Windows in-house backup: Create Windows Backup in Windows 10 Backup Restore Tutorials

    Some members use Macrium Reflect free: Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect Backup Restore Tutorials

    There's a few ways to go about repairing.

    To repair I suggest this first: Run Startup Repair in Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

    If that doesn't work, this is the least evasive recovery option using option one: Reset Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials

    Sometimes, IMO, upgrades drag along broken code, so sometimes I'll clean install. If you choose this in the future we can show you how.
