My Line IN and Mic IN are connected/mixed onto the same driver

I feel like i wont be able to explain this well so try and bear with me or just ask for more clarification, granted i can actually provide it.

So i wanted to have my switch audio and my pc audio going through the same headset, whilst also being able to use my headset mic as well on my pc, so i can talk on discord and watch youtube and stuff on one monitor while i play my switch on the other monitor. So i bought a 3.5mm male-male jack cable and connected one end to my audio OUT on my monitor that is connected to the switch and the other end connected to the line IN on the back of my pc. I also have my headset mic connected to mic IN.

So i have been messing around with the settings, trying to set up (Turning on listen for line IN, unmuting line IN, etc), but i have somehow made the settings play my mic audio and my switch audio on the same driver.

This brings up so many problems like not being able to listen to the switch audio without also hearing my mic audio, and if both are connected to my line IN driver then i cant talk to anyone while I play on my switch, and if its connected to my mic IN driver then i can talk to people but they can also hear my switch audio practically blasting them.

I've been looking for an answer to this problem but i cant seem to find anything out, so im hoping someone hear can help me with my situation (although i feel like its a really simple thing to fix that i am just too dumb to have thought of myself).

    :)

  2. Turn On or Off Switch to Headset Mic when Mixed Reality Portal is Running in Settings

How to Turn On or Off Switch to Headset Mic when Mixed Reality Portal Running in Windows 10

Mixed Reality Portal is the desktop app that takes you through Windows Mixed Reality setup. It also serves as the command center on your PC for your mixed reality experience.

Windows Mixed Reality works best with your headset's built-in speakers and mic, or headphones with mic connected to its audio port. If your headset doesnt have a built-in mic, attach headphones with a mic to the headset or to your PC.

Windows Mixed Reality doesnt support Bluetooth audio devices.

    USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

    No mic aplification?

Fixed it - I rolled back the driver to High Definition Audio Device driver and connected my mic to line in.
