The Recycle Bin provides a safety net when deleting files or folders. When you delete any of these items from your hard disk, Windows places it in the Recycle Bin and the Recycle Bin icon changes from empty to full.

This tutorial will show you how to pin to taskbar the Recycle Bin as a toolbar with the Empty Recycle Bin context menu for your account in Windows 10.

Can't Pin Windows 10 Recycle Bin to Taskbar

Hi - you can fix this problem by first creating a shortcut for the recyle bin. Once you've done this you'll be able to pin it to your start menu and the taskbar. For some reason if you don't use a shortcut you can only pin the recycle bin to the start menu
and not the taskbar. So here are the steps you need to do in full..

    • go to desktop and make sure you've got 'show desktop' icons selected so you can view the desktop icons including the recyle bin.
    • right click the recycle bin and choose the option to create a shortcut. This creates a short cut icon to the recyle bin on the desktop (yes, of itself pretty useless but it is this that fixes the problem for us!)
    • now select and right click the shortcut you created in Step 2. above and choose the option to 'pin to start'. This creates a tile on your start menu to the recycle bin.
    • goto the Start Menu and choose the recyle bin tile you created in step 3. right click this and you'll now see there is an option to pin it so the taskbar. All should now be working and you'll have a shortcut to your recycle bin on both your start menu and
      on the taskbar.

Quite why MS should make achieving this simple objective so very difficult is one of the great mystries of the 21st Century!?

Pin Recycle Bin to Taskbar in Windows 10

Can't Pin Windows 10 Recycle Bin to Taskbar

I am trying to pin my Recycle Bin (windows 10) to my Taskbar, for convenience. The information I have found on the internet describes how easy it is: Just go to the start menu, Right click on Recycle Bin, and select "Pin to Taskbar". However, when I right
click on my start menu Recycle Bin, I only have three options: "Unpin from Start, Resize, and Open File Location". Is this a Glitch? Or, What? Please Help.

  6. Recycle Bin to taskbar?

There are actually a few other ways to see the icon for the Recycle Bin added or Pinned to the task bar. The first guide found here at TF is the Quick Access Toolbar method. Quick Access Toolbar - Add Empty Recycle Bin in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

The second is from SevenForums where you create a new toolbar and see that added to the taskbar for either a single item like the Recycle Bin or multiple programs like IE, WExplorer, an icon for each app you can add into one folder that is pinned and turned intoa jump list. Recycle Bin - Pin to Taskbar - Windows 7 Help Forums[2]=Taskbar%20Start%20Menu

I've using this other method since Vista to roll up any number of system functions, utilities, and wrapping games in others. Once you have a new folder for Trash created at the root of C: you simply right click on the RBin icon when set to appear on the desktop to create a new shortcut. The shortcut is then either dragged or moved into the new folder.

When later right clicking on the taskbar itself you select the new toolbar option and browse to and select the Trash folder and apply it. At first you will see Trash appear in text where you right click again and uncheck the Title and Text items to then see only the waste basket icon remain in view. For other toolbars with several shortcuts you would simply name the folder created to the catagory unless mixing up the type of apps they go to.
