How to Turn On or Off Timeline in Microsoft Launcher app on Android Phone


Since April 2018, youve had pick up what you were doing even if it was on your iOS or Android device on your Windows 10 PC when youre ready to get back to it.

Now with the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, your PCs timeline is available on your phone, so you can scroll back in time to find the files and websites you were using on your phone, computer and tablet.

Basically, you can pick up where you left off, wherever you left off. Go back and forth in time by easily scrolling back to find things you were working on earlier today or earlier this week. Share or remove activities whenever you want from a specific day or hour.

Timeline shows 7 days of past activities, including activities done on a tablet and laptop when users are signed into their Microsoft accounts.

Timeline is now available in preview on Android phone via the Microsoft Launcher app and will be coming soon to preview for iPhone.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off Timeline on Your feed in the Microsoft Launcher app on your Android phone.


EXAMPLE: Timeline on Microsoft Launcher "Your feed" for Android phone







Here's How:

1. If you haven't already, you will need to install the Microsoft Launcher (beta) app on your Android phone, and sign in to the app with your Microsoft account.

2. Tap on Launcher Settings to open it. (see screenshot below)



3. Tap on Your feed to open its settings. (see screenshot below)



4. Turn on Your feed, turn on or off Timeline for what you want, and click/tap on the Home button at the bottom. (see screenshots below)





5. To open Your feed, swipe right on your home screen, and tap on Timeline (if turned on) at the top. (see screenshots below)

Microsoft Launcher Timeline on Android 9 not working

I saw the screen shot images that you have provided and appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.

You may also want to ensure that these settings are set correctly. Refer to the reply posted by ‘Amit_Sun’
from this thread.

Microsoft Launcher Timeline on Android 9 not working

The Timeline feature of the mobile Microsoft Launcher never worked for me on my old Android 6 and it still won't work on my new phone running Android 9. My PC Timeline works fine and no other MS Launcher feature on mobile has a problem.

I've followed any advice I found elsewhere, adjusting settings, such as in the PC Activity History and Shared Experiences; as shown in these Screenshots.

Even if I can't get it working, let me know if I can help troubleshoot the Beta in some way.
