How to Clear Windows Update History in Windows 10


Information Windows 10 is a service, which means that it is upgraded with periodic software updates.

While you can manually metered connections (where charges may apply). In that case, only those updates required to keep Windows running smoothing will automatically download.

Microsoft releases important updates every second Tuesday once a month, known as Patch Tuesday. However, updates could be released at any time.

An uninstall updates if necessary.

Sometimes you may need or want to clear your Windows Update history.

This tutorial will show you how to clear the Windows Update history on your Windows 10 PC.

You must be signed in as an administrator to clear the Windows Update history.

Here's How:

1. Click/tap on the Download button below to download the .bat file below.

2. Save the .bat file to your desktop.

3. Unblock the .bat file.

4. Run the .bat file.

5. When prompted by run as administrator.

6. You will now see a command prompt flash and quickly open and close to clear your update history.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

File explorer search history is not clearing


Hi

I have gone through all the steps in the following thread, but my file search history is not clearing or updating. Search terms clear, but the old search reappears with deleted files on it.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
