Windows 10 turns my computer ON

I have a Dell OptiPlex with Windows 10 Pro, received yesterday. I have not yet installed anything on the computer. I ran the Set Up and then at Control Panel>Settings ..., I selected Windows 10 as the default OS (to stop the display at boot asking me to select Windows 10 or Windows 10 Recovery), and I turned off the requirement to enter my password or PIN. That's all I have done.

Yesterday evening, I turned the computer OFF at Start>Power>Shut Down. The power button on the OptiPlex went dark.

This morning, the computer was ON.

Is that normal? I have used Microsoft operating systems since the days of DOS, and have never encountered this.

If it is normal for the OS to turn the computer ON "by itself" (a feature to update itself?), why doesn't it turn itself OFF when it's done?

    Thank you.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
