    When Microsoft account.

    Notes
    • Sync settings also works if you sign in with a work or school account linked to your Microsoft account.
    • If Sync settings isn't available on your device, your organization might not allow it.
The settings you choose to sync are also saved in OneDrive (cloud).

You can choose to sync your theme, passwords, language preferences, Ease of Access, and Other Windows settings settings. If you turn on Other Windows settings, Windows syncs some device settings (for things like printers and mouse options), File Explorer settings, and notification preferences. For a complete list of settings that Windows can sync, see Windows 10 roaming settings reference.
    • Theme - desktop background, user tile, taskbar position, etc.
    • Passwords - Windows credential manager, including Wi-Fi profiles
    • Language Preferences - spelling dictionary, system language settings
    • Ease of Access - Narrator, On-screen keyboard, Magnifier
    • Other Windows Settings - see Windows Settings details
This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable syncing theme on the Sync your settings page in Settings for all users in Windows 10.

    Synced Theme

    Try this:

    1. Make sure you have all Integration Services for your Win10 VM turned on.
    2. Turn off theme syncing in the VM.
    3. On the host, save the theme for sharing.
    4. Drag & drop the theme to your VM desktop and click & install it.
    5. Now see if there are any differences.
    6. If there are still, it has to do with the virtual hardware.

Sync - Which computer controls the settings?

If you are talking about sync settings in below screenshot, then it's really straight forward:

Enable or Disable Syncing Theme in Windows 10 Sync Your Settings [IMG]

Sync Settings - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Whenever you change something on any machine where that sync setting is enabled, let's say the theme for instance, it will be also changed (synced) on every other machine you have where you sign in using the same MS Account and where the same sync setting (in this case the theme) is enabled. This might require a reboot or sign out / sign in cycle but eventually it will be synced.

You could say that the "sync master" is always the machine where a synced setting has las been changed because that change in settings will be applied to all other machines using the same MS Account and same sync settings.

  5. Background / theme not syncing (Windows 10 1803)

    Hi wjhulzebosch,

For me to provide you with relevant troubleshooting steps to address this problem, I would like to verify the following information:

    • Is this the first time you're trying to sync settings in all 5 devices? If not, was syncing working before?
    • Have you logged in your Microsoft account in all 5 devices?

I know that you've already enabled the Sync your settings option in Microsoft Edge, however, I also suggest that you enable the Internet Explorer settings as well, as they use the same sync settings.

If the issue persists, please restart the SettingsSyncHost.exe process and see if your computer is already synced. Follow these steps:

    1. Right-click on your taskbar and click Task Manager.
    2. Under Processes, select the Host Process for Settings Synchronization, then click
      End task.
    3. Restart your computer and let the process restart.

Syncing with other devices may take time. I suggest that you give it about 24hrs.

Should the issue persists, please update this thread so I can further assist you.

    Regards.
