  2. Windows 10 Unexpected shutdown on start up

OK, so i figured it out myself

    Found the logfile in "C:\Windows\Minidump".

You need the Windows Development Kit to open it and a bit of googling to understand it.

Found out that a Daemon driver caused an error. Removed Daemon but this didn't solve it. (ps: Daemon itself worked normally).

I let hibernate my computer again and found another error with sptd2.sys: SCSI Pass Through Direct layer

More google and ended up on the duplexsecure site. Downloaded the W10 version and voila: problem fixed.

For the Windows support team: It would be really helpfull if you could pass problems to a more skilled helpdesk who can do more than proposing the standard solutions in case those won't work.

    Cheers

  3. Windows 10 Unexpected shutdown on start up

OK, so I also found out that this occurs when sleepmode (for me after 3 hours) changes into hibernate mode.

Seems like the going into hibernate and/or starting up from HIbernate results in a shutdown. In safeboot it works perfectly.

Anyone any idea how I can figure out where it goes wrong. Is there a way to log this (I couldn't find it in bootlog)

    Since as Shawn states:

If the PC has any of the above licenses, would it be logical to assume that the generic key for your machine's licensed product would allow an upgrade of the Windows 10 S to that product, without undergoing a rollback to your original installation?

  6. I did a clean install, was prompted for a key, clicked I don't have one, and it activated with a Digital Licence. The PC in question had Digital Licences for Home, Pro, Education, and Enterprise. I have no idea which DL it used. General consensus is it was the Pro DL. This PC does not have an OEM Embedded key. I have access to an actual ISO via MSDN, so I can do a clean install. I don't think that is possible with the link in this tutorial. You have to upgrade if you can actually call it that, from a currently installed and activated Windows 10 (anything but 10 Home).

My reference to rollback was more along the lines of what you can do after the 10 days expire and the Windows.old gets deleted. When I was done playing around with 10-S, I just entered the generic Pro key and switched to Pro. No having to start all over with a clean install or restoring an image. Entering an Education key will likely work too. Best guess is that a Home key won't work though. 10-S is a custom version of 10 Pro
