Windows 10: Touch Screen is CRAZY. Is there a command to disable touch screen while in safe mode?...

The touch screen has issues - it makes dots all over screen, acts crazily. Some time ago, I disabled touch screen using control panel (?) which enabled me to use the computer just fine.


The Oct. 2019 Windows update turned the touch screen back on. The screen is so crazy it will not allow me to type in my password to log in to my computer. It flits around and interferes with input from keyboard, mouse, or touch screen keyboard. No way to get in.


Using shift F8, I can access those options. I tried using restore point. Tried undoing the update. Tried the windows reset, with no change. Pretty sure I tried the repair option. Tried attaching a nontouch monitor to the all-in-one using the HDMI port, and the crazy screen duplicates itself on the non touch screen monitor.


If I use shift F8 I can somehow fumble into safe mode. The command line allows me to type normally.


Is there a command to disable touch screen from the command line in safe mode? Windows 10.

Touch screens

I can do 60 words per minute on my phone, perhaps more now as I've got used to the phone. ( htc desire z, using the stock onscreen keyboard)

Touch screen + predictive text I recon I could equal my keyboard typing speed. Maybe beat it depending on how advance the predictions are.

( hard to use predictive software on traditional keyboards as there is no way to quickly choose the suggested word, where as touch screen keyboards can have the suggested words appear above the function keys)

A touchscreen, or touch screen, is an input device that enables you to interact directly with what is displayed, rather than using a mouse, touchpad, or other such devices (other than a stylus, which is optional for most modern touchscreens).

If your device has a touch screen, you may want to disable and enable it as needed.

This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable the touch screen in Windows 10.

*note You must be signed in as an administrator to enable or disable the touch screen in Device Manager.

OPTION ONE

Disable Touch Screen in Device Manager
1. Open Device Manager.

2. Expand open Human Interface Devices. (see screenshot below)

3. Right click or press and hold on HD-compliant touch screen, and click/tap on Disable device.



4. Click/tap on Yes to confirm.



5. When finished, you can close Device Manager if you like.







OPTION TWO

Enable Touch Screen in Device Manager
1. Open Device Manager.

2. Expand open Human Interface Devices. (see screenshot below)

3. Right click on HD-compliant touch screen, and click/tap on Enable device.

4. When finished, you can close Device Manager if you like.











OPTION THREE

Enable Touch Screen in Device Manager Properties
1. Open Device Manager.

2. Expand open Human Interface Devices. (see screenshot below)

3. Double click on HD-compliant touch screen.



4. In the General tab, click/tap on the Enable Device button.



5. Click/tap on Next.



6. Click/tap on Finish.



7. Click/tap on Close.



8. When finished, you can close Device Manager if you like.

Touch screens

If the majority of people were like me, then touch-screens won't be "the future".

1) Touching the screen makes it smudge. What's the use of having an expensive, high resolution monitor if every time you use it it ends up looking as if it was full of dead pixels?

2) Touch screens are uncomfortable for long-time or leisure use. I want to rest my elbow comfortably on a chair, my wrist on my mouse-mat / desk, and my hand on the mouse. Having my shoulder angled at 90 degrees to touch my monitor all the time would be very tiring.

3) Touch screens might be comfortable only for small monitors, certainly not much larger than 19". Imagine using the technology on a 50 inch monitor... well, then you'd be doing pilates I guess.

4) Touch screens are definitely not the future for pc gaming. Can you imagine playing a first person shooter on a touch-screen monitor? I'd break it up on my first try...

The only touch screen I would use is a phone.
