    You can use different keyboards with Windows to fit your needs. The most common is a physical, external hardware keyboard that you plug into your PC. Windows 10 includes a touch keyboard for PCs.

    Starting with Windows 10 build 17063, you can add a period after you double-tap the Spacebar in the touch keyboard.

    This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off add a period after you double-tap the Spacebar while using the touch keyboard for your account in Windows 10.


    CONTENTS:

    OPTION ONE [/i] Turn On or Off Touch Keyboard Add Period after Double-tap Spacebar in Settings
    1. Open Settings, and click/tap on the Devices icon.

    2. Click/tap on Typing on the left side, and turn on or off (default) Add a period after I double-tap the Spacebar for what you want under Typing on the right side. (see screenshot below)

    3. You can now close Settings if you like.

    OPTION TWO [/i] Turn On or Off Touch Keyboard Add Period after Double-tap Spacebar using a REG file

    *note The downloadable .reg files below will modify the DWORD value in the registry key below.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\TabletTip\1.7

    EnableDoubleTapSpace DWORD

    0 = Off
    1 = On


    1. Do step 2 (on) or step 3 (off) below for what you would like to do.


    2. To Turn On Touch Keyboard Add Period after Double-tap Spacebar
    *note This is the default setting.
    A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

    Download

    3. To Turn Off Touch Keyboard Add Period after Double-tap Spacebar
    A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

    Turn_off_add_period_after_double-tap_spacebar_for_touch_keyboard.reg

    Download
    4. Save the .reg file to your desktop.

    5. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

    6. When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.

    7. You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.

    950xl Double tap wake up JUST QUIT - 2018

    1.) "We’d like to know if the issue happened after the recent update?"

    ANSWER: No.

    2.) "Is the issue still persisting after turning on and off the double-tap to wake?"

    ANSWER: My MS 950xl, under TOUCH, doesn't have a listing for DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE. The DOUBLE TAP just always worked.

    3.). Where is the DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE option located, please?

    4.) Where do I find TROUBLE SHOOTING steps for MS 950xl, DOUBLE TAP TO WAKE?

    Touch keyboard pops up at login

    If the above steps didn't work, we suggest that you disable the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service. Please follow these steps:

    • Click on Start.
    • Type Services, and then press Enter.
    • On the right pane, look for Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service. Double-click on it.
    • Locate the Startup Type drop down, and change it to Disabled.
    • Click on Apply button to save changes.
    • Click on OK button to close the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service
      window.

    Double space in mail app not replaced with a period and single space

    Doesn't work for me on real keyboard but works with the touch keyboard.

    Even a space after the end of word it doesn't add period. So double tapping immediately after the end of word, it adds a period.

    Should also work with real keyboard when connected to tablet but its not. Is it supposed to work this way only?
