Change Wireless Network Connection Priority Order in Windows 10

The higher priority connection sounds to be correct then since it's listed above the lower priority one.

Have you already checked to see if the higher priority connection has "connect automatically" turned on for it?

Worse case, you should be able to remove the networks from the computers, and then set them back up again to sort it.

Windows 10: Disable automatic connection of a wireless network

    This isn't helpful.

This is clearly a software issue and can't be rectified by playing with wireless settings. Please can Microsoft create a patch? I find that often it stops me logging in as the computer is confused on the networks it is connected to.

I have followed all the suggested steps and it makes no difference as I am not actually connected to the networks that the computer is suggesting I connect automatically to.

    Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.

  5. Windows 10: Disable automatic connection of a wireless network

    Hi,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

If you have not tried this then you may follow these steps to test if that helps:

    • Open "Network and Sharing Center".

    • On the left pane, click on the option "Manage wireless networks”.

    • Look for those networks where the Security is "Unsecured." Right-click on an unsecured network, then click on "Properties”.

    • Make sure that the box next to "Connect automatically when this network is in range," is not checked. Then click on "OK" to save your settings. Repeat the steps to uncheck the box for any other unsecured networks on the list.

Keep us informed to help you further.
