How to Turn On or Off Touch Visual Feedback in Windows 10


If you have a touch screen in Windows 10, you can show visual feedback around the touch pointer when you touch the screen.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off showing touch visual feedback for your account in Windows 10.


CONTENTS:

EXAMPLE: Touch visual feedback









OPTION ONE [/i] Turn On or Off Touch Visual Feedback in Settings
1. Open Settings, and click/tap on the Ease of Access icon.

2. Do step 3 (on) or step 4 (off) below for what you would like to do.


3. To Turn On Touch Visual Feedback
*note This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on Other options on the left side. (see screenshots below)

*note Starting with Windows 10 build 17040, you will need to click/tap on Cursor, pointer and touch feedback on the left side instead.

B) Turn on Show visual feedback when I touch the screen.

C) Turn on or off (default) Use darker, larger visual feedback for what you want, and go to step 5 below.







4. To Turn Off Touch Visual Feedback
A) Click/tap on Other options on the left side. (see screenshot below)

*note Starting with Windows 10 build 17040, you will need to click/tap on Cursor, pointer and touch feedback on the left side instead.

B) Turn off Show visual feedback when I touch the screen, and go to step 5 below.




5. You can now close Settings if you like.





OPTION TWO [/i] Turn On or Off Touch Visual Feedback in Pen and Touch
1. Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click/tap on the Pen and Touch icon.

2. Do step 3 (on) or step 4 (off) below for what you would like to do.


3. To Turn On Touch Visual Feedback
*note This is the default setting.
A) In the Touch tab, check the Show visual feedback when touching the screen box. (see screenshot below)

B) If you want darker and larger visual feedback, check the Optimize visual feedback for projection to an external monitor box.

C) Go to step 5 below.

4. To Turn Off Touch Visual Feedback
A) In the Touch tab, uncheck the Show visual feedback when touching the screen box, and go to step 5 below. (see screenshot below)
5. Click/tap on OK. (see screenshot below)








OPTION THREE [/i] Turn On or Off Touch Visual Feedback using a REG file

*note The downloadable .reg files below will modify the DWORD values in the registry key below.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Cursors

ContactVisualization DWORD

0 = Off
1 = On
2 = On with darker and larger

GestureVisualization DWORD

0 = Off
31 (decimal) = On


1. Do step 2 (on), step 3 (on - darker and larger), or step 4 (off) below for what you would like to do.


2. To Turn On Touch Visual Feedback
*note This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 5 below.

A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 5 below.

4. To Turn Off Touch Visual Feedback
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 5 below.

Turn_OFF_touch_visual_feedback.reg

5. Save the .reg file to your desktop.

6. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

7. When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.

8. restart the computer to apply.

9. If you like, you can now delete the downloaded .reg file.

visual voicemail turn off?

Hi,

To turn off or disable Visual Voicemail, please follow the steps below:

• From the Start screen, tap the Phone tile.
• Tap the More icon (...) at the bottom of the screen.
• Tap settings.
• Tap the Visual Voicemail switch to turn off.

Windows 10 Connect > Touch input is turned off

This is a common concern when the Touch
keyboard and hand or Tablet
PC keyboard service is off. We suggest checking it:

• Click Start.
• Search for services, click it.
• Scroll down and look for Touch keyboard and hand, click Start.
  
• Look for Tablet PC keyboard and click Start.

If it won't work, we suggest quickly letting the Windows 10 team know about this concern by submitting a post in the

numeric keypad num lock visual feedback

Hi Harshavardhan Rathod and thanks for answering me.

I do not need a feedback on a key stroke.

I do need a feedback on the status of a numeric keypad.

I need to know if that numeric keypad is toggled as cursor arrows or as number input.

If you write:

"there may be no option to visualize the Num Lock on the screen."

Should I still hope that "maybe" there is?

"maybe" somewhere else?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Privacy tweaks...

• Turn Cortana Off. Bring up the Start menu and start typing. Click on the notebook icon in the left sidebar and choose Settings. From there, you can turn off Cortana.
• Search online and include web results. When you turn off Cortana, you’ll see this option appear. You can turn it off if you’d rather not get web search suggestions from the Start menu, which log your typing and send it back to Microsoft so you can get live-updating predictions, just like you do on Google.com or in Chrome and Firefox.
• Getting to Know You. In Settings > Privacy > Speech, Inking, & Typing, you’ll find a feature called “Getting to Know You”. This is probably the most sweeping privacy setting on the system, and even after turning off Cortana, you’ll have to disable this setting. Just click the “Stop Getting to Know Me” button to turn it off.
• Cloud Info. Turning off Getting to Know You removes info from your device, but you’ll have to remove it from the cloud separately. In that same window, click “Go to Bing and manage personal info for all your devices” to clear the Getting to Know You Data from your Microsoft account.

• If you head to Settings > Privacy > Feedback & Diagnostics, you’ll see two settings:

• Feedback frequency: Windows will occasionally ask you for feedback so you can send Microsoft your thoughts on Windows 10. If you’d rather it not bug you with such things, you can change it to Never.
• Diagnostic and usage data: This feature can send a lot of data back to Microsoft, including how often you use certain apps, which apps you use most often, and memory snapshots (which can inadvertently include parts of a document you’re working on if something crashes). You can change this to Full, Enhanced, or Basic. You can read more about what each of these to here.

Microsoft doesn’t let you turn off diagnostics completely, except on Enterprise versions of Windows. The Basic setting, they say, is data that is “vital to the operation of Windows”, including Windows Update and malicious software protection.
